Main fuse location
Hey, so I plugged a battery booster into my battery and as I just bought it I am not sure it had eniough to turn the vehicle over. Nothing happened more than a second of turn. So I turned the ignotion off. Removed the booster and attached battery cable. But there's no power to anything that's obviou...

Re: Bumper towing
Thanks. Yeah, I've been reading about towing in 5th gear. We have a place called Tacoma Screw around here. Bolt City.

Bumper towing
I tried to get a tow dolly tonight but after putting the dolly on the whole bumper moved up and down. Like five inches. From the guy the bolts need to be tightened. First question, do those bolts rust? Second what is the size of the bolt incase I need to replace? I'll pull all FOUR bolts to make sur...

Re: Hard starting loss of power
I carefully watched it fire up today and it's blue smoke for half a second then black smoke half a second then blue smoke half a second then black smoke. The idle was more like 750. But at idle it's really shaking. Obviously having a hard time staying running.

Hard starting loss of power
So my 1984 Diesel has been getting harder and harder to start. It kicks out a big plume of bluish smoke and then the smoke turns black after it runs for a few seconds. The length of time it takes to get the engine going has been taking longer and longer. Then it usually dies once after I get it runn...

As long as I'm posting
Here is a close up of the thing that has the water temperature thing in it. It has a total of three connections but I don't know what they all do. If someone could tell me that'd be great.

Won't go into gear, manual transmission
Fired up the beast for the first time in a year and it won't go into gear. Clutch pedal has normal feel. I've added some fluid to what I'm guessing is the right thing circled in red. And reading about what the next step is has me confused. Is the thing circled in blue the slave cylinder?? and the th...

Nissans and Isuzus
Is there any crossover between Nissan little trucks and our Isuzu P'ups? My friend has a really nice condition Nissan truck that he might sell because of the enging. I am specifically wondering if the diesel will swap.

Tossing my bed
Eventually I'll have to remove the bed of my truck. I have a brother in law who is a welder and he said he'd help build me something. Are there any pics of what people have done? I was thinking of a wider longer cage so I could throw some crap in the back and "secure" it. Bicycle thieves r...

Identify this?
I was looking at my dash and pulled this out. I'm guessing it is the old stereo hookup? Or mono hookup?

Re: Trailer wiring harness
I borrowed an induction tester, but even though the turn signal is on, it isn't detecting anything. I bought a wire harness from Harbor Freight for 8 bucks. It has the trailer and vehicle wires with the 4 flat connector. And it has quick connect splice which is as simple as it gets. I have the origi...

Trailer wiring harness
I'm putting in a wiring harness for a trailer. Used some oven cleaner to clean the wires for my photo. I'm using a four wire harness, and I'm wondering which wire is for what. I mean, on the truck, not the harness. Sorry if this is stickied somewhere. Hope you like my photo. Looks to me like red, bl...

Mechanic wanted: Bellingham Wa
I see there is a thread listing mechanics by state, but nobody is mentioned very close to me. I'm looking for a mechanic to track down some of the little things wrong: A lot of the lights on my dash are lit up, but then again they always have been. Voltage light is on though the voltage meter looks ...
