I think the starter solenoid alone draws about 16 Amps. I'll see if I can find my old measurement and if it's different I'll post back.

The water from the AC is on the right side of the fire wall under where the two AC lines hook up. The one in the pictures is from the heater box. The heater box and the AC box are two different items.

The only problem that I've has on both of mine was the o-ring on the rear of the pump started to leak and it was an easy repair.Jerry had the o-ring kit.

Some of the Isuzu starters came with a heat shield. The on on my trooper had one on it.

Increasing the voltage rating worn't hurt at all. It sound like the motor is sick and may not ever been up to snuff. Brand name can make a difference.

Andy, did the motor ever work like it should or was it always sick. If that cap has two leads, that would be the start cap. If it has three or or leads that would be a start and run cap.
