Re: P'ups - a Vanishing Breed

We just made a road trip from Memphis to Kansas City, and visited Oskaloosa and Lawrence, KS, with a couple of nights in Branson, MO. We even drove right through where OzarkDaredevil lives. Usually, I see at least one P'up or LUV whenever I drive in rural Arkansas. Sadly, I did not see even one P'u...

Re: Type of oil in Manual Transmission

Viscosity isn't a major issue. Rule of thumb is to use the same oil you put in the engine.

Re: Single Acting Shock Absorbers

Seems like I recall shocks designated as 90/10 for old school drag racing. They extended easily but only compressed with considerable force.

Re: Steering Wheel Seized on Spline Shaft

Mack,
I'm in your corner. While a steering wheel should detach much more easily, a very few (for whatever reason) are nearly welded to the steering shaft. My steering wheel is also in that category. There was nothing wrong with your technique or tools.

Re: Putting an '87 back on the road after sitting a LONG time - Need Tips

I guess doing two oil changes wouldn't hurt. Dunno.

I shot grease in all the zerks when I resurrected my truck.

You might also get the rear brakes checked out (front brakes seem to get all the attention).
