Re: Temporary Loss of Power

I purchased a Norton Atlas many years ago and a woman who lived across the street raced a Norton Atlas, interesting woman. I asked her what she suggested as I was changing engines and doing other minor things. She said and I quote "take a wire cutter and cut all the f....ing wires off and re wi...

Re: starting

I fixed the air in line problem by inserting a small fuel pump that is wired to my glow plug system that only runs when I push the glow plug button. And, yes I changed to a 12v system mostly so I could test run the engine on the floor before installing it and I just stayed with it.

It is on the road with license!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started this and hit a wrong key and all I wrote disappeared. Oh well, I seem to have the draft thing down now. My first post on this fabulous site was around August 2008, about the time I purchased a pup long bed and extra engine in Utah and drove it back to Cali. The pup had no plates and I met ...

Re: Oil Pressure???

I'm back, I changed the oil filter base unit with one from the running engine that I previously had in the pup and still when I start the engine I get 100 psi which at idle goes down to 80 psi. I haven't put it on the road yet but planning on doing that soon. What are the dangers of too high oil pre...

Re: troubles with my new diesel swap. have fun with this brainteaser!

Yes check for air in the fuel and check voltage at the glow plug. I suspect your push button is shot. another test if you have a good dc ammeter your glow plugs should be over 30 amps. If not you probably have one or more bad glow plugs, bad connections. With your compression it should start right u...

Re: No lights crank or noise

Never short battery terminals. They make test equipment for that. Dpupman, you ever see a battery explode? Yes and the acid burns. I should have stated touch them and look at the spark. Better yet, touch the positive terminal with one end of the wire and an exposed metal part of the engine, probably...

Re: No lights crank or noise

I'm sure there is a good smart ass comment but it is not coming to me. I suspect battery and or connections. Water in battery, electricity in battery (load test) connect one jump cable or use 14 inch 10 ga wire. Short batt terminals quickly, should be big ass spark. Get good other battery and jump c...

Nor did camels, and I remember $0.17 a gal and a carton of cigs with a fill up in the very early 50's, in California no less.

Re: IP seal kit

I got one from Industrial Injection for $19 for the rubbers P/N DGK 121 and the seal 146601-0700 for $5.40. I haven't used it yet but it looked correct. Their number is 801 972 0467. I talked to Adam Scholl. They figured my pump model was P/N 104749-6901

Re: Start circut wiring NO START

Try jumping the starter directly. Get a wiring diagram and move backward from the starter. Check your grounds, by cleaning scraping and reassembling with dielectric paste available at any hardware store also clean and reassemble battery leads.
