Re: Top Speed

Yep, got me too. But I just want to say thanks everyone for any input you had. Even though none of the issues brought up were the problem, I went through them all and now am more confident that this truck is sound now. So once again, thank you

Re: Top Speed

I already have the weber 32/36 due to the stock carb being too far gone to restore. And still not getting over 67. So the only thing I can think of right now is regearing the rear end. With 31's you think 4.56 would be a good ration to maintain highway speeds?(65-70) and what teach would work good. ...

Still in the process of figuring out how to get a tachometer on there so as of right now I dont know exactly what the rpm is. I know it not redlining though because the motor isnt screaming at me like it will through 1-4 if I push it

Re: Top Speed

Gps, the speedometer is reading about 10 mph lower. Will be fixed in the future but as of now, not too worried about it

So I have taken on the task of bringing a p'up out of its grave after sitting in a yard for 7 years. It runs great after a year of wrenching. I'm just trying to figure out what the top speed should be so I know if the motor is still hurting. My p'up is a 1990 carbed 5 speed 2wd and currently tops ou...

New to the forum. Have gotten a lot of useful info off of here but finally decided after a year to join. I've got a 1990 2.3 5 speed carbed p'up. Started out as a truck that sat in a yard for 7 years and after a year of work finally got it back to life. It's been a long journey and without this foru...
