Re: 4JB1T big voltage drop on startup

Be sure to check the ground between the frame and the engine. It can cause weird problems if it becomes disconnected. A simple test would be to ground the engine to the frame with a jumper cable.

Re: 95 2.3L Rough Idle

On my carb'd 92 pickup, I had a similar problem. It ran badly most of the time. Even on it's best day, there was this one long hill where at the bottom it stalled every time. On the days it ran better than others, it still might stall at any stop light. Not ideal. My problem was the truck had sat fo...

Re: Fuel pump vacuum lines

It appears from the picture it goes to the tube that runs up to your carb. To recap what oldestisuzuist said; 1. from the tank through the fuel filter and through the little pulser to the pump 2. smaller return to the tank. 3. supply to the carb. 4. vent line (it just hangs down) The vent line is on...

Re: Fuel lines

There is one hose that just hangs down. It allows the other side of the diaphragm to not be sealed, while not allowing water/dirt in. If oil is leaking out of it, then it's good you are replacing it.

Re: 92 Pickup Hitachi carb jets

The pilot jets, also called idle or slow jets were really clogged. They are buried deep in the carb and are easily to damage when removed. These jets, based on two carbs were Primary 52 Secondary 100 I spent a lot of time searching for anything close to these jets, but so far no joy. I'm going to so...

Re: Bad gas - Truck sat for a while, now runs terribly (AKA Phase separation)

As it still wasn't right after the third cleaning, I bought another carb that was for a previous year. It ran better, and is drivable, but still see-saws at idle. As I now have two spare clogged carbs, I set about disassembling and soaking them in Pinesol and water for a day. My goal is to have one ...

Re: Wiring identification help

At a glance this appears to be the feedback carb connection. If you sidegraded to a Weber, it's probably no longer needed. Tomorrow during the daylight, I'll check my 2.3 1992 and see if the colors match. I'm assuming it is just below the carb, or at least on the passenger side. Hope you haven't bee...

92 Pickup Hitachi carb jets

I have two clogged carbs and today was carb soaking day. Youtube suggests Pinesol and water, and that seemed cheap (just like me :) I removed both Primary and secondary(?) jets and they appeared to still be mostly clogged. I could run a pipe cleaner through them, but that would likely change their t...

Re: '92 Pickup - gas light stays on

Late response :) There is a separate low fuel sensor in the fuel tank. They go bad, dirt, rust etc. As long as the fuel gauge works, you can disconnect or ignore it. Assuming you don't have some odd electrical short that's causing it, replacing the sending unit is the only option. You can test this ...

Re: Headlights - low beams and hi beams reversed??

If this was a single beam HID light, you'd want the lights to be lit in both the high and low setting, meaning you'd short both together. Switching back to regular bulbs would mean the high and low beams would be lit if either were turned on. This does not fit your description as they don't work at ...

Re: Light problems

I have a few questions. Did all these problems happen at the same time? Do the dash lights turn on with the running lights off too? I assume you meant with the running lights on, and the headlights off. The dome light is most likely a bad bulb or door switch. If the other two cases happened at once ...

Re: I said to her baby be honest.. Do these tires make my truck look big?

Changing tire size will cause the speedometer to be incorrect, but it's probably not much. I'd compare it to what a GPS says, but even that might not be all that accurate. Just one of those things to keep in mind when you have a cop trailing behind you :) My truck has four new unbalanced tires, they...

Re: Electro Magnetic Pulse

Wiping out half the people depends on location and level of the CME Hi Dinger95, I agree I was really overstating that. Caulk it up to being overzealous. I should have said something closer to but if it were big enough, could wipe out mankind replacing and if it were to, would more than likely wipe...

Re: EGR system diagram

That trooper picture has the same hose layout, but is missing the ECU controlled relays and the 1-2-3-4 bar. Check the pictures in the link below for a 90-92ish pickup. http://www.isuzupup.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24894 The three hose that attach to the bottom of the normal carb all are directly...
