Re: Scary clacking noise progressivly worse one cylinder.

Thanks mark. I do understand that about removing the whole oil pan , but I was just going to remove the smaller portion of the pan first, to see what i can see. If i can see and reach the problem and there not signs of damage then i’d probably just replace the rod bolts and maybe bearings if there i...

Re: Scary clacking noise progressivly worse one cylinder.

Thanks for the suggestions. Which rod is the 3066 rod? Is the 3066 rod what is already in my 86 c223t? I have been trying to search the net for c223/t connecting rod bolts, but have had absolutly no luck. It looks like performance isuzu may have some bolts, but they make no mention of the c223, yet ...

Re: Scary clacking noise progressivly worse one cylinder.

Is it easier to drop the 4wd axle to get at the bottom end, or is it easier to pull the engine?
I have the removable cross member.

Re: Scary clacking noise progressivly worse one cylinder.

Your right about the heat shield, mine was badly cracked so i took it off in the past. It rattles less since i have but theres still some type of rattling noise from somewhere unidentified, in addition to the clack. I have not disasemmbled or unhooked my turbo to jiggle things... the way the clack i...

Re: Scary clacking noise progressivly worse one cylinder.

That seems like a good idea. My 86 seems to have a removable smaller lateral portion of the oil pan on the bottom, but it doesn't seem to go far enough back to check all the rods. Im thinking of draining oil for metal as suggested, then trying to reach up in there and wiggle or scope the big ends fo...

Frozen wheel alignment shim plate nuts. How to dislodge intermediate steering shaft?

I got some new wheels 15x7 4.5" backspace (fit beautifully) with 215/70/15 highway tires. They fit really nice, would have preferred to go 215/75/15 or 225/70/15 cause theres a lil more space... next time... better safe than sorry. Anyways, i went to get an allignment afterwards and the shop co...

Scary clacking noise progressivly worse one cylinder.

Hey hey So i picked up a 86' 2.2 turbodiesel 4x4 spacecab with 135k on it this last fall :D It is in pretty darn good shape too, obviously having been cared for. But like all things with tits or wheels, there gonna be trouble! (Nothing against woman) So to the problem. Over the last couple weeks the...

Re: Is a re-ring job enough?

I thought i'd just jump on this topic since my issue is basically the same, hopefully we can elaborate a bit... My 82 pup smokes from the breather tube and oil fill cap, Enough to be slighyly obnoxious while idling in stagnant air or with my head under the hood. I don't exactly want to be one to spe...

Re: Towing a Pup question

Palm Springs, Im leaning towards a towbar. It seems just as convenient except for needing to fabricate a connection under the bumper. Did you do that yourself? Also, it seems like you would still need to disconnect the driveshaft, correct? I never disconnected anything .just put trans and trans cas...

Re: Turbo passport

College has kept me busy, but the turbo install is finally complete --I straightpiped it and it sounds so wonderful! the gt1749 appears to be a good choice for this engine, theres almost no turbo lag and it has an amazing throttle response, now the truck does get attention haha, ill upload pictures...

Re: Will 28"x10.5" tires on 15x9 rims with 3.75" backspace in pup 4x4

thanks for the input there. this is my first endeavor in messing with rims and tires on cars... it seems like the wider the rim the more stable the tire will be, which was lacking on my old rims. for one i dont see such narrow rims on craigslist, and also i dont exactly want to make my tire have mor...

Will 28"x10.5" tires on 15x9 rims with 3.75" backspace in pup 4x4

Just picked up some wheels&tires mounted and balanced 235/75/15's that come out to ~28.25"x10.25" the rims are 15x9" with 3" backspace. IMG_2640.JPG IMG_2636.JPG IMG_2667.JPG My problem is they are rubbing on the rear of the fender well at only moderate turn angle. The fronts...
