Re: Help! 1.9 Gasser - Persistent Oil Leak from Repaced Fuel Pump

Bummer. You might be able find one at your local pick and pull/pick a part or get one fabricated at Tap Plastics or maybe get get some one to machine a spacer for you. I'll keep a look out at the pick and pull/pick a part down here in the bay area.

Good luck,

Re: Help! 1.9 Gasser - Persistent Oil Leak from Repaced Fuel Pump

The first time I replaced my fuel pump about 7 years ago on my 1.9 Gasser. I installed the spacer upside down and I had a oil leak. Installed upside down leaves a small little gap under the spacer allowing a little oil to leak out. Once I installed the spacer correctly no more oil leak. Just replace...

Welcome to the site. You mentioned replacing the radiator. Where did you get the radiator and what is the part number?

Re: 83 pup headlight issue

A couple of years ago my 86 pup's headlights worked but the tail lights and side marker light would not come on. I ended up un-installing the light switch, cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner, then reinstalling the switch and everything was working again. Been working ever since.

Re: Truck runs on idle

I agree with puttputtinpup. I have an 1986 1.9l 4 speed. I would try the fuel filter first. The filter should be located on the passenger side rear fender well, somewhere around the filler neck. If that does not work i would try the fuel pump. I had the same thing happen to me. I was fine idling but...

Re: regulator fuse blows when starting, hard idle

I recently had a similar problem. Battery light and hand brake light staying on while i was driving and idling funny wanting to stall out. Although I did not blow any fuses. I ended up replacing the battery (it was almost five years old), the voltage regulator and the alternator. That helped solve m...

Re: Exhaust suggestions after failing smog

I have a 1986 1.9L Pup and failed my smog here in California because of high HC and high Co. Did a bunch of stuff to try to fix it but the thing that worked was replacing the Catalytic converter. Hc and Co was almost zero then it passed.

Re: Isuzu left me stranded.. Again..

My vote is for the fuel pump. When my fuel pump went out, my pup would start and idle just fine, but when shifting from 1st to 2nd it would buck like like a wild horse. Only mistake I made when installing the fuel pump, I put the spacer between the fuel pump and engine in upside down. Then I had oil...
