chevy solid axle swap
anyone ever seen chevy axles under a isuzu pup or trooper? I know theyd be a little wide for it, but would be a major upgrade from the IFS if you spent your time in the mtns. If you can find pics of this post them!

Re: what years trooper for diesel swap
ah lame! I didnt realize they were all that heavy. Dont really care much for power, just really liked what the diesel did in my little 4x4. Looking for something more straightforward though instead of dropping another isuzu engine/trans into a non isuzu vehicle. A better question I guess would be wh...

what years trooper for diesel swap
I sold my diesel samurai and have got the itch again for a diesel SUV. I'm wanting to buy a 90's isuzu trooper and eventually swap the 2.2L motor into it. What years should i be looking for? What motors will have matching bellhouse pattern for the tranny?

Re: glow plug relay troubles
kravdraa had the solution. Looks like the small positive connector right off the battery was the culprit. I'll go and polish all the connections and give them a touch of dielectric grease and then put her back to work on the trails. Thanks guys!

Re: overheated, now issues with glow plug relay
alright so the two wire controls fast idle so thats not it, the 1 yellow wire has never worked. I dont believe its an issue with the connector as the selenoid still clicks, just immediately after I turn the key to the warm position. What controls the length of time that the glow plugs take to warm u...

Re: overheated, now issues with glow plug relay
yep thats the one, I figure I'll do a temporary fix and just wire a push button circuit to the glow plugs, but ideally i'd like to replace it if the part is available

overheated, now issues with glow plug relay
I blew a radiator hose on my last trip and now the glow plug relay is all screwed up. I turn the key and the click from the relay comes immediately after, not several seconds later as I'm used to. I figure overheating probably did some damage to the two wire thermo sensor (the one yellow wire sensor...

Re: egr bypass/delete
My plans are to make my own intake and header, but if the ones i have are more valuable then hacking them up i will just use the bases to make a template then sell the stock manifolds to some poor bastard in CA that needs them for emissions. I'm going to reroute the intake straight up and across the...
