Re: First time Isuzu owner!

There you go. I'm learning new stuff already. Here's the pics of the truck properly attached. 20190115_175126.jpg 20190115_175059.jpg I pulled the original carb off this afternoon, but it was a struggle. I had read the warnings about the poor access on those nuts, so I was coming into the project w...

Re: First time Isuzu owner!

Welcome to the site, Kyle. The 1990 model is a "Pickup". It shares a few components in common with the P'up -- like the 2.3L engine and transmission, and some minor interior bits. Please attach pics, don't even try to use the IMG tag. I loathe imgur, photobucket, and all photo hosting site...

Re: Glow Plug System QSSI

Now I got confused. If I'm not mistaken it is called 'QSSI'. Sure, but since that wasn't ever offered in the P'up, we wouldn't be as familiar with it as the QOS in the P'up. Even so, some general tips would probably apply. The symptoms you're describing sound much like what I've experienced with my...

Re: Glow Plug System QSSI

Ok, we never got anything called QSSI here on P'ups (that I'm aware of). :D

Re: Newbie from Malta

JoeIsuzu, both are diesel. The 1980 Gemini is the TE version with a 1800cc factory engine and the 1986 one is the modern LT version with a 1500cc engine. Got it. Some of our members are quite familiar with the 1.8L 4FB1. You may want to add the engine types to your vehicle info in your profile. Jack

Re: Glow Plug System QSSI

We never got a "QSSI" system in the US, but it sounds like it might be the same as our QOS. What model year is this?

It would be nice just for the info -- I'm a data nerd. But definitely no CEL!!!

Re: Finally, a Touch-screen Head Unit for Single DIN Applications

First things first. ;) By the time I get to the interior, maybe the prices will have dropped. But it even has HD Radio (high on my priority list), which Pioneer seems to ignore in their mass-marketed head units. You can get it, but you have to order a model that's not generally discounted. I looked ...

Finally, a Touch-screen Head Unit for Single DIN Applications

This came out LAST year, but I didn't see it until an article on the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) mentioned it. I'm not an Alpine fan, but this concept looks intriguing and is a new approach -- a 9" display but mounted on a single DIN "mechless" chassis. It just might work. Al...

Re: Carpet is getting wet

I was talking with a member here about this issue once some years ago. He found that water can come in from the antenna wire if you don't have the wire pulled down before it reaches the grommet in the firewall ... Pretty easy thing to check. Great tip, I'd forgotten that one. I think that's called ...

Re: Carpet is getting wet

I can think of a few possibilities.
  • Bad weather stripping around the door.
  • Leaking rear windshield seal
  • Rusted-out floor pan
  • Leaking heather core
  • Stopped-up A/C condensate drain

"rear passenger side seat"?

Are you telling us your truck is a SpaceCab?
