Re: Isuzu 4FB1 overhaul/resto-mod for CJ5 conversion

I have a few 4fb1 parts you might be interested in. Cheap. New pistons, rings, head gasket and I think an entire gasket kit along with rebuilt starter and alternator and an entire dismantled rust free engine. And other stuff I can't remember. There is a sad stories that is associated with these part...

Re: Replacement engine

With Paul's help I drove home a diesel 4x4 4 speed. 145,000 miles. A dash with no damage! I feel a little guilty parting it out as the body is straight and rust free and the engine runs and sounds great. And did I mention it has a dash with no damage! I recently reupholstered my pup seat, door panel...

Re: Isuzu High Mileage Club!!

That is pretty amazing having so many miles on the original transmission. I would guess it might be some kind of record.
Did you rebuild it yourself?

Re: Replacement engine

I have replaced the vacuum hoses and oil seals in front and back of engine. Also replaced head gasket. I must admit I could be more vigorous looking for the leak( a quart every 1000 miles or so). And perhaps I might be getting ahead of myself thinking about having a replacement engine ready and wait...

Steering gear

Has anyone replaced the seals in the steering gear. Or rebuilt one by chance. Or know where to get rebuild parts.

Imark totaled

About 3 weeks ago someone pulled out in front of my wife and totaled our Imark. She was fortunately not hurt but our pristine 82 diesel Imark with 90,000 miles was smacked in the front. It destroyed the unibody under frame in addition to the fenders, etc.... I actually have a parts Imark with all th...

Alternative solution for removing A.C. pump

I decided to remove my non-working AC pump and the usual fix of replacing the AC pump with a pulley was not going well as the pulleys are hard to fine. I did have the dual belt pulley that comes off the 2.3 gas engine water pump which looked mighty tempting but was slightly smaller in diameter then ...

Re: C223 AC delete idler pully

As to Paul's engine being 'too clean'. I must say that being friends and neighbors with Paul is a great boon for my truck but rather hard on the ego for me. At least when the hoods are up
