Re: Battery recommendation?

I had a customer who knew more about batteries than any one person should......He owned 2 auto electric shops and used to teach auto electronics. He would only use East Penn, Deka batteries. They're a silver calcium battery, which means they won't "gas" and the terminals won't corrode. The...

Turbo Trooper Sequim, WA

Hi guy's! Been a while. Life's changed a lot....again. I've gone back to my past and I'm the DM for Cornwell Tools in the Seattle area. Wylie's P'up is parked inside my garage in Oregon for a while along with all my turbo Trooper parts. Anyway, I pulled my Kia Sportage (can't believe I just typed th...

Re: Wylie's P'up plow

Nice truck you've got there. Just make a great snow plow since they have only a few ponies under the hood. Pretty hard to get those tires to slip I bet! If we get a northwest meet going would you be interested in attending? It's amazing how well it plows. I only run street tread and never put weigh...

Re: ((((((((((((URGENT NEWS FLASH))))))))))))

Wonder if this is a response to the tour bus accident on Cabbage? They had announced the use of salt a couple months ago and that part of 84 isn't part of the planned usage. That's not the first bus crash on the mountain. For over 10 years (30 years ago) I started up Cabbage every Monday morning at...

Worlds smallest diesel, fits in the palm of your hand

This video is 9:25 long, and worth every second of it! AMAZING VIDEO OF TRUE CRAFTSMANSHIP. AN OPERATIONAL V-12 DIESEL ENGINE THAT FITS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND. This is not CNC technology; this guy made everything at home on his lathe and drill press. Took 1220 hours (a year and a half?) to make th...

Re: Battery Sudden Death

When you buy a battery look at Deka/East Penn. The majority of battery's are made by Johnson Controls (including Optima) I have a friend who knows way more about battery's than any one man should. He used to teach classes on a national level. When you look at the pleats, plates, posts and grids of a...

Re: Complete Filter List for 81-87 Diesel P'ups

Old thread but this is how I found out my '83 titled P'up is must have been a late '83 as it uses a '84 and newer oil filter. You'd be amazed how important the build date is in getting the correct parts. When you buy parts for anything, take a look at the build date on the door jam. It might save yo...

New freind's P'up

I met a cool older gentlemen a little while ago. I had seen him driving the truck he calls "blackie" for a couple of years but I've never gotten a chance to talk to him. He owns a beer tap cleaning service, a business I also grew up in. I started cleaning beer taps behind the bar with my f...
