Re: Thermostat replacement

Good to know if I ever replace it. So: to paint or not to paint?

Re: Thermostat replacement

Good call putt, thanks! And thanks Ed for the advice. This is a cool little truck and there aren't any up here in the northeast. Slowly, I've been getting it back in shape. I'm on the fence about painting it, though. Have a friend with a spray booth and think ill give it a whirl. At 158k, think this...

Thermostat replacement

I replaced the engine coolant temp sensor, and the needle still doesn't rise all that much so I'm assuming that I have a thermostat issue. I am going to replace tomorrow. When I do so, can I just drain the coolant and refil? I should do a proper coolant flush at some point, but for the time being wo...

Bulb size for dash lights 1995 pickup

Was hoping to hit autozone on the way home from work today before they close and wouldn't have a chance to check myself. Anyone know what size bulb I need for the dash illuminator lights and how many bulbs? Thanks so much!

Re: Speed sensor question 1995 pickup

I've noticed that these are about $125 at auto zone. Anyone have an idea of where I can get one for less? Seem to be around $80 lowest. Wondering if anyone has one?

Speed sensor question 1995 pickup

My 1995 pickup is showing the abs light and the brake light on the dash. Wondering if this could be the speed sensor in the rear dif? Brake fluid and brakes are fine, and e-brake cable was just installed. Any idea what could be causing these lights?

Re: 95 pickup wheel and tire size

Thanks for the quick response. Assuming the center cap clears, I'm looking for something like this: http://boston.craigslist.org/bmw/pts/4001171638.html Thanks for the help. I really like the look of a larger wheel and tire and while my current rodeo wheel setup is nice, the rot on the wheels is get...

95 pickup wheel and tire size

It's been almost a year since I bought my pickup with 157k on the clock, and the one factor holding it up from inspection potentially is the wheels and tires. Rather than sink money into new rims and tires (hard to find isuzu wheels that haven't been destroyed by salty winters) I've been looking on ...

1995 Pickup Brake light and ABS light on

Just installed the new ebrake cables on the '95 pickup, however the ABS and parking brake lights are still on intermittently. Any ideas what may be causing this? Friend mentioned it could be a speed sensor?

I'll try crimping on a new female connector to the wire so that I have two clean connectors. Thanks

Re: 1995 Belt squeak upon starting

Just checked out the alternator belt, and it looks pretty good with minimal play. One thing I noticed pertaining to the noise is that despite the lack of a tach, the belt (not sure which one, could be something else too but sounds like a belt) squeaks in every gear at about 3,000 rpms. I guess that'...

Engine temp gauge still finnicky after changing sending unit

I changed the engine temp sending unit with a replacement, and while the temp gauge rises about a milimeter, it refuses to rise any more. When I grounded the wire per the test you guys mentioned, my father said he could see the needle rise on the dash. I just drove around for about 20 minutes outsid...
