Re: How do you clean electrical connectors?
If you use any type of abrasive, such as sandpaper, emery cloth, etch you can clean the immediate corrosion, and the connection will work for a while, but as soon as the 'new' metal is exposed, it will start to corrode at a faster rate. The best way to start is to use as little abrasive as possible ...

Re: CNG compressed natural gas
CNG is the way to go. Your engine will love it and you will not have to do all those oil changes (saving money) as the oil will not dirty up as fast. If you have access to a method to fill 'er up, it's wonderful. Here's how to do it at home: http://www.cngnow.com/vehicles/refueling/Pages/refueling-a...

Re: Wood Gas
Yes. You can burn wood, yard waste, pellets, etc at such a temperature the biofuel is converted to methane gas. It has to be cooled before being introduced into the engine but if you search on YouTube you can find many examples of vehicles being powered by a gas generator. The Germans did it in WWII...

Re: Biodiesel as solvent
Biodiesel as solvent? Just use Mazola Corn Oil. It isn't rocket science. I've used corn oil to soak engine parts, remove tar, etc etc. It works great and is pretty durned cheap.

Re: New dashpad...for a price
Hahahahaha...that's one reason why from Day One when I bought my '90 NEW in Hawaii, I put a dash mat on it and it has never ever been without one since October 1989. I've gone thru three or 4 over the years but it was well worth it.

Re: 1989 isuzu pickup won't turn over
First, turn on the headlights. Turn key to start and see what the headlights do. If the headlights dim down to nothing, suspect a bad battery, even if you had it tested. I would still swap in a good KNOWN battery and test. With NOTHING at all when ignition key is turned to 'start', I would also susp...

Re: Is frame rusting preventable?
I've had my '90 SpaceCab back in OH now for three winters. Prior to that I'd been living in SE Arizona for 24 years. Had it since new. I had it cleaned and undercoated when I moved back here. Since then, every Spring this time, I will get out the POWER WASHER, and liberally shoot soap and spray ever...

Re: Grease Fittings?
I have a '90 SpaceCab 4x4 and it had (OEM) and has (aftermarket) grease fittings.... on each spider gear (3) as well as the ball joints and the slipjoint on the front axle. As for disassembling U-joints (spiders) to clean - I would go the R&R route to save time and get new components in there. A...

Are you making any more modifications to the engine? That is, are you just going to try to hook up a supercharger to a stock 2.6 engine and hope for the best?

Re: Which Steering Damper do you recommend?
Just cross reference the part numbers. It doesn't move except to reduce wobbles, so s tight clearance is OK, I have very little clearance on my 90 as well for it.

Re: windshield washer pump motor fix
yea, I had a problem where the washer fluid would leak out; I thought it was the rubber sear around the motor that sat in the bottom of the tank, so I futzed around with it and thought I'd fixed it. I didn't. Turned out that the pump motor was leaking internally and dripping down inside the fender w...

Re: 90 ISUZU PICKUP hazard flasher inop.
Relay and flasher are two different devices. I have a '90. There is only ONE flasher unit, no relay. There are a few possible causes for the problem: Fuses, flasher, and switch. I assume you checked all fuses and did a wiring check. Do your turn signals work? You said your 4-ways don't work but do y...

Re: A/C swap problems, help!!
You need to look at the schematic. There are several ducks that have to be in a row for the A/C compressor to kick on when you push the button, and turn on the fan speed other than OFF. There's a difference between how the diesel and gas vehicles are wired for A/C. The blower motor has a black groun...

Re: What's is air pump purpose
No. With our engines, it has not effect on the engine, one way or the other. When the engine is cold, air injected at this point (the exhaust ports) cleans up the extra-rich exhaust and raises the temperature of the exhaust so as to bring the catalytic converter to operating temperature quickly. Onc...
