Re: 84 Pup getting Ford 302...

I promise you pics tomorrow! I have been in the garage the last three days making this thing fit. why a C6? Well I wish I had a long and very technical answer to BS my way into making you think I knew what I was doing on the transmission side but the real answer is that I picked up a running 302 and...

Re: 84 Pup getting Ford 302...

I hear ya... I have a couple 9"s laying around if that happens. I don't want to do this for speed, I am over that part of my life! This is for a slight acceleration boost and to increase drivability. Plus that sound... Plus, when the clutch kicked in on the engine driven air compressor with the...

Re: 84 Pup getting Ford 302...

So no input from anyone... I will update this for anyone looking to do the swap pics will come later as I get further along. But the rear sump pan for a 302 will not work. Switched to a front sump and that was a lot better but still wasn't getting the engine as low as I'd like. I picked up a double ...

84 Pup getting Ford 302...

Well the 1.9 is out and the 302 and a c6 is going in. For now, the engine is stabbed in. Looks like I will need to pull the engine pan off to get the engine to sit down all the way in the engine compartment where by I can then reinstall the pan. Main question I have for those that have done the swap...

Need guidance on toyota hub conversion...

This gets a little convoluted but here is the situation... 84 pup with 88+ drop spindles hubs rotors and calipers. I am looking at converting the front over to the common Toyota five lug. I understand that's a hub and rotor conversion. Both the 88+ Isuzu and the Toyota use the same bearings, inner a...

Re: Best place to put a oil pressure sender, 84 1.9l?

Alright, put in the new pressure sender today, I didn't see anything near the oil filter that looked like a factory pressure sender. I did, however, what looked like a pressure sender back near the starter close to the top of the oil pan. There was a factory sender there but it wasnt hooked up... so...

Best place to put a oil pressure sender, 84 1.9l?

In building the new dash I am now at the stage of gauging. I am curious where you could/would tap into to place the oil pressure sending unit? I will be running an autometer pressure gauge, as I am sure some of you have in the past. Just need to know where the best place to put the sender is? Any gu...

Re: What do I do to lay out?

drop spindles, but then you have to watch the track width move out about an inch on each side. But thats what I did on my 84, looks much better now.

Dash Work...

I have been absent from the forum for a few but I have been busy working on the pup. Among the many changes to it, recently I had a hair brained idea of having it gratified. Looked cool from about 10ft but otherwise the artist ran the paint something fierce. So it all had to come off. That's where t...

Re: post up your bagged trucks

This is how the 84 looked late this summer. Just an experiment really. All of it is gone now, glass is out now and its getting a new dash and paint along with interior this spring.

Re: Toyota Front Bumper on a P'up

I am sure it will work with the 88 and newer trucks but I have a 84 sooo I can only help in that regard. the 91 2wd toyota bumper fits pretty close dimensionally length wise to the body of the 81-87 pups. What needs to be done is a bracket needs to be made to mount the bumper. I didnt buy one, I jus...
